Director JUPEBVeritas University is proud to identify with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) as one of its affiliated member university. With over three(3) years experience as a JUPEB Foundation school, we are confident of a good outing in the forthcoming JUPEB national examinations having invested so much in the holistic preparation of our students.

Our Vice Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Hyacinth E. Ichoku, at several of the interactive sessions with JUPEB Tutors and students, has consistently reiterated the need to maintain standards and ensure the sanctity of examination as Veritas University has ZERO tolerance to any form of examination malpractice.

As we round up the fourth set (2023/2024) of Veritas JUPEB programme, we at the JUPEB Foundation School would most sincerely like to thank the university management under the able leadership of our amiable Vice Chancellor, our hardworking Tutors, our diligent and committed students, our parents and indeed, all those who in one way or the other, made this fourth year of the JUPEB experience such a pleasant one, we say THANK YOU all and sundry!

The director's Professional Profile

Dr. Michael Boni Bazza was a member of the worldwide Catholic Order of the Augustinian Priests and Brothers from 1994 to 2016. He was a delegate to the World Youth Days in Canada 2002, and Koln, Germany 2005 and attended several internal academic conferences, the latest was the ECAS Conference which held in Cologne, Germany, June/July, 2023.

After his philosophical training at the Augustinian Monastery Jos, he earned a degree in Sacred Theology from the Urbanian University in Rome, Italy. He also earned a Master’s degree in African Studies from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, USA. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Military History/International Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.

Dr. Bazza has produced four books, one chronicling his experience and reflection of what it means to be confronted with terrorism and violence. He aptly titled the book “Boko Haram Terrorism: My Personal Story as a Victim in the Light of Christ’s Suffering”. In addition, he carried out a special research on the Catholic Priesthood the result of which is a book he titled “The Priest of God”.

Dr. Bazza is a prolific writer and has authored over fifty articles published in reputable journals both locally and internationally and indexed in Scopus, Scimago and Springer Nature. His academic works have been published by Lambert International and Missio Kirche, Germany. His PhD thesis “The Christian Mission in Kamwe (Higgi) Area of Northern Nigeria, 1942-2012” has been published into a book by Lambert publishers, Germany. He currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of History and International Relations, Veritas University Abuja (The Catholic University of Nigeria).

His other responsibilities in Veritas University include: Director of Consultancy Services, Centre Director for both: Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), Editor Veritas Journal of History and International Relations, Hostel Master and chief mentor, Chairman Senate Ceremonials Committee and a member of the Central Admission Committee of the University.

He is the Founder and Director of Bernd Pitschke’s Memorial Home for the Needy (Gidan Masu Bukata) in Tsukuma-Bazza, Adamawa State, Nigeria. His experience is also captured in a monograph he titled “The Chronicles of Bernd Pitschke”. His research interest include: Ethnographic studies, Boko Haran Terrorism and other emerging insurgencies, selected Themes in Global History and African Diaspora studies.

Dr. Bazza advocates for child rights, non-violence, anti-brutality, and the dignity of the African child. He is happily married to Rahila Ussa Tijani and the marriage is blessed with two children, namely: Ascenta Kuva-ra-Boni and Ngam’mkwa Zirra Boni.
